The Anaheim Geese known as out the Toronto Solar on social media Thursday after the outlet referred to rookie netminder Lukas Dostal as a “no-name goalie” in a headline regardless of his record-setting evening for the franchise. 

Dostal, beginning rather than John Gibson, who was out with an sickness, set a franchise report for the Geese, saving 55 of 57 pictures on aim in Anaheim’s additional time loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

“If it’s a 20-shot or 40-shot [game], on the finish of the day I’m simply attempting to verify I attempt to cease each single puck,” Dostal instructed reporters within the locker room after the sport.

“That’s my job. I don’t actually fear about what number of pictures it’s.” 

Apparently, the massive evening for Dostal wasn’t sufficient to get any identify recognition within the Toronto Solar’s headline. 

The headline, “Auston Matthews saves day in OT after no-name goalie vexes Maple Leafs,” caught the eye of the Geese social media workforce, which blasted the outlet in a submit on X.

“His identify is Lukas Dostal. He had 55 saves final evening. He was NHL Rookie of the Month in October,” the submit stated.  “Be higher, @TheTorontoSun.”

Dostal led the league amongst rookie goalies final month, successful 4 of 5 video games and being named Rookie of the Month.

Regardless of the slight, Dostal acquired overwhelming reward from his workforce and coach.

“He was improbable,” ahead Isac Lundestrom stated. “He’s all the time working arduous, so I’m actually joyful for the child.” 

“Dostal saved us in there. It’s a disgrace we couldn’t win,” coach Greg Cronin stated.  “He’s terrific. He’s fast. When he’s out and he’s attacking, he’s an aggressive goalie, and he’s arduous to beat.”

The Geese transfer on to host the Winnipeg Jets Friday.
